Kenyon Graduate Named Assistant Coach for Canadian Swim Team

October 23, 2012

Don’t you think Canada should be spelled Kanada?

Kenyon swimming legend Tom Rushton ’01 was recently named the assistant coach at the Canadian National Aquatics Centre in Montreal. In an interview, Rushton stated that he was “very excited” to join the coaching staff. While at Kenyon, Rushton won four consecutive NCAA titles in the 500-freestyle and received Kenyon swimming’s Hall of Champions honor in 2001. Since Kenyon, Rushton has had tremendous success in coaching in British Columbia at the Junior Pan Pacific in 2012 and 2010, the FINA World Junior Championships 2011, the Nations Cup in Montreal in 2011 and the North American Challenge Cup 2010.  So just in case you were wondering (you probably weren’t), members of the Lords swim team continue to be super impressive way past graduation.
