The Monday Catch Up

Oh my God! So good to see you! How was your break?!?!?

The lead story: The Artist and The Descendants took home the top prizes at the Golden Globes ceremony last night.

Everything else:

Jon Huntsman is getting out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination, after his moderate message failed to gain traction with voters. His aides say he will endorse frontrunner Mitt Romney.

Last night, the New York Giants beat the Green Bay Packers senseless 37-20, giving them a shot at the NFC title. They will play the San Francisco 49ers next week, and if they win, will go to their first Superbowl since 2007.

Romanians have taken to the streets to protest their government’s recent austerity.

The weather: It could be a pretty miserable first week back, with rain predicted for the next two days and the ever-sinister “wintry mix” closing out the week. But at least it will be warmer than it has been! Highs are in the 40s today and tomorrow, will dip on Wednesday and stabilize in the 30s going into the weekend.

The Peirce Outlook: Predicted highlights of lunch today are carnitas and ravioli. The soup is potato chive (this is on here because we originally read it as potato jive and thought that sounded great).
