The Monday Catch Up

Peirce doesn’t get the Sunday paper. But we’ve got everything you need to know to seem smart at lunch right here.

The lead story: Mitt Romney has gone hella negative in the Florida primary, and it appears to be working. Recent polls have him up 9 points against Newt Gingrich, who is also being super mean.

More below the jump.

Everything else:

The Help won big at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. So get ready to hear a lot of “Did you see the SAGs last night?” from your drama major friends.

New York (home state shoutout!) lawmakers want to raise the minimum wage to $8.50 – a 17 percent increase.

The AFC won the Pro Bowl.

The looming deadline alert: OCS materials are due on Feb. 8.

The weather: This is going to be another one of those disconcerting weeks where it feels like it’s April but then you log into Google Calendar and it’s blatantly not. Highs above 40 until Friday. Potentially some rain, but other than that, pretty mild. None of this matters, though, because this is the first week you’ll spend staying late in the library. As it turns out, we go to school here.
