Do it tonight: See Carl Djerassi (the Alum Who Invented the Pill)
Come hear chemist, playwright, poet, and novelist (whew) Carl Djerassi, speak tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Cheever Room of Finn House. Djerassi studied chemistry at Kenyon, and went on to invent the birth control pill. Although he is often referred to as the father of the pill, he has said that he would “rather be called the mother of the Pill.” In tonight’s talk, “From the Pill to the Pen,” he will talk about his career as a chemist and how he has also became a poet, playwright, and novelist. Even if you’ve never heard of the pill (and I really hope you have), you should come over to Finn House tonight for this lecture and discussion by one of the most dedicated overachievers and, as the posters all around campus say, a “world-changer.”
What: Carl Djerassi, the guy who invented the first oral contraceptive pill, will be talking about the development of his career “From the Pill to the Pen.”
When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Cheever Room, Finn House.
