Do it today: Lords Football vs. Denison

This is it. This is the day. This is the Lords’ last regulation game of the year. But the season could go on. They could very well head to the conference championships, if this happens:

  • Kenyon (5-1 in the NCAC) defeats Denison (3-3 in the NCAC)
  • Either Ohio Wesleyan or Wittenberg (both also 5-1 in the NCAC) lose

But even if OWU or Wittenberg don’t lose, if the Lords win they will be in a three-way tie for first in the conference, and they will have had their first seven-win season since 1984. For a team rebounding from an almost three-season losing streak, that’s extraordinary.

Are you convinced you should go to the game and watch history unfold yet? If for some reason that answer is no, try watching this video and getting to know our football players a little better:

Convinced now? Good. Dress in black and head on down to McBride Field by 1:00 p.m. to black out the Big Red. You’re going to want to get there early, though: not only is there a pregame barbeque, but the first 200 fans will get a free t-shirt.

No matter how today ends, it’s going to be one of the most exciting games in Kenyon history. Even though both the coach and the players assured me that there will be no vengeance sought for those not in attendance, you don’t want to miss it.

*Special thanks to Daisy VanDenburgh ’16 for putting this video together!
