We get a lot of intriguing email over at the Thrill account (Ask us your sex questions! Send us your childhood journals! thekenyonthrill@gmail.com! Shameless plug!), but the other day we received a message so good we just had to share it with our readers.
It seems our investigation of the tiny clock in Upper Dempsey has landed us on some sort of Internet spam list for avid timepiece enthusiasts who prefer to make their major clock purchases online from Zhangzhou City, Fujian, China. Check out the exciting offer below —
Luckily, the email’s author, Mr. Taylor Lynn of Zhangzhou Electron Co. Ltd., was thoughtful enough to enclose some samples of his factory’s “profuse designs”:
I’m no “factory specializing in the manufacture and export of wall clock”, but I have to say, I’m quite partial to QH801P.JPG over there in the upper right corner. God help me, I just can’t resist a good wall clock decorated with an elaborate reproduction of the Mona Lisa. Who among us can?
Seeing as Mr. Lynn was polite enough to declare it “my pleasure to offer news to you regular”, we decided it would be the pinnacle of bad manners to let his thoughtful email go unanswered.
No response so far, but we’ll keep you posted — if this negotiation keeps going as well as it’s going, we might be able to replace that Swatch on the wall in Upper Dempsey with a state-of-the-art, “series quality grade” wall clock, all the way from Fujian.
From one human being to another, I love this. Literally lol
