This was a week of championships for the Lords and Ladies. Some performances ended in wins, some in losses, but all were strong performances by our athletes.
Tuesday:
Men’s Basketball vs. Wabash College (NCAC quarterfinal game): Win 77-72
Women’s Basketball vs. Oberlin College (NCAC quarterfinal game): Win 70-61
Thursday:
Men’s Tennis vs. North Carolina Wesleyan College: Win 8-1
Friday:
Men’s Basketball vs. Ohio Wesleyan University: Loss 64-77
Women’s Basketball vs. Allegheny College (NCAC semifinal game): Win 80-50
Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track at Denison University Last Chance Meet: Unscored
Men’s Tennis vs. California Lutheran University: Win 6-3
Saturday:
Women’s Basketball vs. DePauw University (NCAC final game): Loss 49-63
Men’s Tennis vs. Emory University: Win 5-4
– Kenyon was ranked 2nd, Emory was ranked 1st. It came down to the final singles match, but CJ Williams ’13 ensured a win for the Lords.
Men’s and Women’s Swimming at Kenyon College Invitational: Unscored
Indoor Track also held the Heptathalon portion of the NCAC Championships this weekend. Brett Williams ’13 set a new Kenyon record with 3,647 points and ended in 11th place. He was followed by Alex Bentham De Grave ’16 in 12th place and Jordan Wehner ’14. For the Ladies, Leah Jacques ’13 placed 10th. The rest of the meet will be held next weekend.
