It seems that spring has finally sprung in Gambier, even though the spring sports season is, believe it or not, beginning to wind down for some teams.  Here’s what happened this week:

Tuesday:

Softball vs. Wittenberg University: Loss 4-7 (Game 1), Win 8-6 (Game 2)

Wednesday:

Women’s Tennis at Denison University: Loss 4-5

Friday:

Softball vs. Otterbein University: Loss 5-9 (Game 1), Loss 2-12 (Game 2)

Women’s Tennis at Ohio-Michigan Tennis Challenge:

– vs. Hope College: Win 5-4

– vs. Albion College: Win 5-2

Saturday

Baseball at Oberlin College: Win 17-3 (Game 1), Win 12-7 (Game 2)

Golf at Muskingum University Invitational: This one’s a heartbreaker. The Lords would have finished first, but two golfers were disqualified, meaning the Lords did not finish.

Men’s Lacrosse at Ohio Wesleyan University: Loss 8-12

Women’s Lacrosse vs. Ohio Wesleyan University: Win 19-5

Softball at Ohio Wesleyan University: Win 4-0 (Game 1), Loss 0-1 (Game 2)

Men’s Tennis vs. Case Western University: Win 6-3

Men’s Track and Field at Marv Frye Invitational: 11th Place

Women’s Track and Field at Marv Frye Invitational: 12th Place

Equestrian Team at Zones: Celine Aenlle-Rocha ’15 was Reserve Champion in the Walk/Trot division, and will advance to Nationals. Way to go Celine!

Sunday

Baseball at Oberlin College: Loss 9-10 (Game 1), Loss 2-12 (Game 2)

Women’s Lacrosse vs. North Central College: Win 18-9

Both Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse only have two more home games this season, so especially if you haven’t already, go down to McBride Field to support them!
