Even on the off-chance you haven’t been here or here, you’ve probably noticed that Kenyon is rather photogenic. You’ve probably also noticed that everyone with an iPhone is a photographer–add an Instagram filter, selective focus and an ironic border — voila — Art! As the green leaves of summer burst into red and orange and yellow, it may be especially tempting to clog your follower’s feeds with foliage. Here some suggestions for equally seasonal and collegiate, but less leafy, snapshots.
1. Books
New year, new goals: hit the stacks. Hard. Judge books by their covers. View an otherwise unpleasant experience through a new filter (get it? filter!).
2. Bed
After navigating the long, arduous trek northwards, nothing is more satisfying than exhibiting an artsy pic of my comfy comfy bed.
3. Nature
Feeling adventurous? Take a nature walk. This, come the end of September, will undoubtably contain some foliage. But, fear not! There are more, better, cliches to pick. Like bridges. And paths. Just remember: if there isn’t an instagram, it didn’t happen.
4. Food
The Deli is half-way between my bed and Peirce. Convenient? Yes. Delicious? Yes. Promoting bad, bad habits? Undoubtably. But if you take a picture, the calories don’t count! Amiright?
5. Windows
After a desperate attempt at studying, gaze through the glass panes of Ascension’s huge windows. Note the rolling hills, the low-floating clouds, the patchwork quilt of farmland fading back into the horizon. And take a picture.
LOLOL LOVE THIS!!! :)
Can someone please start an instagram or blog where they order and take pictures of every single sandwich at the Deli? Starting with the Pearl Girl or Steeler on a Roll (FUN FACT: it’s even better on a croissant!)
sincerely, a hungry and nostalgic 2011 alum
