Weekend Drink: Lies and Vodka

Ah, parent’s weekend.  That time when the oil of family and the water of academia muddle together in an awkward slurry of telling your parents you’ve forgotten what your floor actually looks likes because your room is such a wreck, and how you ended up with a picture on Facebook that show you sucking down a bottle of tequila as you dance on a table. As for me, I know I’ll be lying through my teeth the whole time. And if your folks aren’t coming, then you have to put up with everyone else’s awkwardness, and hope that their parents say something embarrassing you can bring up later in conversation. So, here’s a quick, easy drink you can make and cram down in the fifteen minutes before you  your parents (or your roommate’s) show up on campus:

-Fill a Pierce cup with ice

-Add 1-2 shots of vodka, depending on how strong you want it

-Fill the rest up with water (or sparkling water or whatever, if you’re feeling fancy)

-Add a couple of squirts of a water flavorer (Mio or something of the same ilk)

-Stir it together and drink (like you really needed to be told that but hey, directions are directions

And there you go, your own vodka flavored whatever.  Quick, cheap, and incidentally really low cal.  It’s pretty flexible too, you can just buy different flavors of,well, flavorer for a new taste.  Rather than $2 worth of soda, you can now buy a flarover for $1.99.  Oh, the savings.
