Well, it’s November again. Sweaters are no longer optional. Thanksgiving is looming and the campus trees have officially come out to play. Lucky for you all, that means that it’s time for The Thrill to pick up on our exciting feature where we spotlight a dashing yet suave tree that is currently making our walk to Peirce a bit more exciting. This week we would like to introduce to Tall Green Pine Looking Guy. Get ready to be charmed.
Name: Tall Green Pine Looking Guy
Hometown: NCA circle near the Art Barn
Lifespan: A super long time. I’m in this for the long haul.
Class: 2014
Major: Political Science with a focus on Plato and a concentration in Women and Gender Studies (The Republic really speaks to me…)
Relationship Status: It’s complicated.
What’s your spirit animal? Why?
I can’t get into this right now. Do you even understand the pressure that comes with that question? I’m currently in a fight with a squirrel friend of mine about it.
What’s been your favorite class at Kenyon? Why?
Gender and Politics. Need I say more? I dressed up as Hillary through the years with a bunch of my friends. I wore a blue pants suit.
What’s your favorite Book?
I’m really into Toni Morrison’s Beloved right now. It’s quite heavy and dark but hey, I’m a deep guy. Plus the tree motif is especially intriguing to me.
Describe your typical Friday night.
I’d rather not go into it. I’m still a bit green if you catch my drift…I’m just waiting for my leaves to change.
If you could plan the perfect date in Gambier, what would it be?
I’d take her to watch a nice French film in the Art Barn…It’s close to home and we could bake some cookies in the kitchen.
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?
Grown seven inches…
If your life was made into a movie, who would be the lead actor. Why?
Ben Affleck. I’m on his side with the whole batman debacle. Gotta support your friends, am I right?
What would be your theme song?
Something by Beach House? They really speak to me.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Towering over the Art Barn
What’s your favorite meal at Peirce?
Sunday Brunch! Who can resist a crispy hashbrown triangle? I know I can’t…it may be starting to go to my thighs.
New side or old side?
Old Side. I played lacrosse in high school.
What’s the number one thing on your Kenyon bucket list?
Break into the bell tower.
ha ha ha ha oh thrill u slay me
Get outta here butts!
Hey – would you mind not using the term “spirit animal”? It’s a term used by Native American people for a sacred event, not a trend to be used lightly. Otherwise neat article – always glad to read the Thrill! :)
way to gender a tree… nice one, thrill.
