Good morning! Here’s what you missed while preparing to destroy your finals:

The Lead Story: On Sunday, the European Union suspended trade talks with Ukraine as tens of thousands of Ukrainian demonstrators protested their government’s handling of the potential deal. EU enlargement chief Stefan Fuele said the Ukrainian government’s arguments on terms of the deal had “no grounds in reality.”

Everything Else:

Here are three of the finalists for SNL’s new cast member. All three are black women and one will join the show in January.

“Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” destroyed the box office this weekend, raking in nearly $74 million. Disney’s “Frozen” came in second $22.2 million.

Spoiler alert: “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane brought a major character back to life in last night’s episode.

China became the third country to land a man-made object on the moon on Saturday. Technically the second country, since the Soviet Union isn’t a thing these days.

This week in The Horrors of Photoshop: check out these GIFs of Jennifer Lawrence’s “Flare” cover. The article sums it up pretty well: “If we’re digitally editing perfection, what hope is there for the rest of us?!”

Remember that time Beyonce released a new album out of the blue and the Internet exploded? Here are some of the best online reactions. You should definitely check out the comment on Bey’s “vegan cupcakes” Instagram, it’s priceless.

The Long Read: This reads like something out of  Homeland. A group of CIA analysts sent Robert Levinson, a retired FBI agent, on an unapproved mission to Iran and he hasn’t been heard from since 2007.

The Weather: Good news! It may actually get warmer this week. It will probably snow both today and tomorrow, but after that expect temperatures to rise to a balmy 50F by Friday. Rain looks likely on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so be sure to factor that into your travel plans.
