Former UCLA head men’s basketball coach John Wooden was unquestionably one of the most revered coaches in college sports. But recently, after The Wall Street Journal published two book reviews about Wooden, Richard Arkless ’58 pointed out that while Wooden was great, he was not the most successful college sports coach of all time. That honor belongs to former Lords and Ladies swimming and diving head coach Jim Steen, said Arkless in this letter to the editor: check it out after the jump!
