It’s been a busy week for Kenyon musicians: the past 7 days have seen new releases from pop-punk wonder duo Ice Cream Social (Catherine Dwyer ’14 and Jack Washburn ’16), baroque-pop sorceress Half Waif (Nandi Plunkett ’11), and the forest-dwelling indie-pop outfit Yellerkin (side project of Poor Remy frontman Adrian Galvin ’12).
This random sample of singles and EPs does a really good job of showcasing just how far-ranging and diverse a range of styles and influences inspire Kenyon musicians. Like guitars? Hit the jump and press play. Or perhaps you enjoy reverb-drenched laptop psychedelia? Hit the jump and press play. Or maybe you just want to hear pop music composed by a classically trained alumna who wrote a nigh-atonal piece of experimental classical music for her comps? I’m really serious, hit the jump and press play. You will not be disappointed!
