Gems from the Treasure Cove, Part II

Do you remember Mariah Carey’s ex-husband Nick Cannon’s improv show on MTV called Wild N Out (which originally ran from 2005 to 2007 but was apparently renewed in 2013 for MTV2 — who knew)? In one episode, during a section titled “R & Beef,” the guys freestyled a song called “You Look Better With the Lights Low.”* That song title is the exact opposite of how I feel about the Cove.

I was walking to my afternoon class the other day, and on the ground outside of the Cove, I spotted three dried-up pancakes, one and a half dried-up donuts, one dried-up muffin and two other dried-up bread products I couldn’t identify.

I’m not even sure what to say about this one. Where did these breakfast goods come from? There was a little Heinz ketchup packet nearby, which led me to think that maybe someone acquired and then violently decided against a McDonald’s breakfast (sometime within the Mount Vernon McD’s breakfast-serving window of 12 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)? How long have they been in the sun? Who is responsible?

Well, anyways, welcome back, everyone.

*I looked for a good half-hour for this clip and only came across two questionable covers. I’m pretty sure Marques Houston of Sister Sister fame was in this one, but in the process of searching, I discovered that so many other notable celebs have appeared on Wild ’N Out. Tyra Banks! Tarran Killam, now on SNL, was a regular! Ne-Yo! Snoop Dogg! Chamillionaire was one of the audience members once! What a world.
