The Thrill spotlights a Sexual Misconduct Advisor regularly to raise awareness about the resources available to survivors of sexual assault. Remember, the SMAs are subordinate to the Counseling Center, so anything you tell them is kept confidential. They also have an anonymous hotline you can call if you need assistance: 740-358-1544. Stay safe this weekend, and know that there is always someone you can talk to if you need help.Today, we’re featuring Scy Krogh, a senior from Bethesda, Maryland.
Cookie pie or giant cookie? Giant cookie – especially when they’re slightly under baked and you can sample each flavor.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had (excluding cookie pie and/or giant cookie)? I was in Paris with my mom and legally ordered wine at a restaurant for the first time. The waiters were all opera students and sang the entire night. While I don’t remember the food at all, the meal was amazing.
What’s the last good book you read? The Color Master by Aimee Bender. It’s been over a month and I still worry about the tigers whose stripes had to be mended.
Why do you love your hometown? Bethesda, Maryland. Every time I go home I run into at least three Kenyon people in our Barnes and Noble.
What is your favorite place to nap on campus? The really big armchairs in the third floor of the library by the back windows! They’re perfectly sized for curling up.
What movie have you watched most frequently and why? Sense and Sensibility – the version with Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson. Does this even need an explanation? It’s the perfect mixture of intellectual satire and heart wrenching love. In costume.
Why did you become an SMA? Sexual misconduct is something that affects so many more people on campus than most people think. Everyone deserves to feel safe here and to have someone listen to them when they don’t. I became an SMA so I could know how to listen and be there in the most helpful way I can.
