Kenyon’s alumni are some of the best and brightest in the world (we happen to think). In this new feature, we’ll be celebrating some of our most beloved Kenyon alums with the highest honor any mortal can hope to achieve: notes/letters published on the Internet. Yes, that’s right, the Internet.

Dear Nick Bakay,
First of all, I’m sorry that you aren’t brought up in conversation as much of some of the other alums–John Green and Paul Newman ain’t got nothin’ on you, bud. Many of my peers would be surprised to learn the the dude who voiced Salem on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch went here.
You have a great talent for adding a shiny glaze to sometimes-questionable writing and morphing it into some pretty great comedy. As a wee tot, I usually only watched the show because one of Sabrina’s aunts was named Zelda and that made my lil’ Junior Video Game Nerd heart all warm and fuzzy, but your character made the experience that much more enjoyable.
Wikipedia won’t tell me if you’re doing anything new anytime soon, and your website hasn’t been finished yet. Of course, you’ve been working with Allison Janney, who gave you a shoutout at the Emmys. The Kenyon College Twitter tweeted about it. That’s pretty solid. It made me giggle to see that you use NickBakay4Real as your go-to username/URL for your official website. Judging from all the evidence, I would say you’re a pretty chill guy. Keep on doing you.
And, don’t worry, I forgive you for Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
All the best,
Molly
