The other day, while working in Palme House, I was tasked with filing some of the old syllabi from semesters past. Among the numerous “ANTH 113: Intro to Cultural Anthropology” and “ANTH 325: Human Skeletal Analysis” ones, I stumbled upon a lone gem.
This class looks freaking amazing. And take a look at that first required text. I found out it contains all new, original material that supplements the film. Higher Education™.
In all seriousness though, I would totally go out of my way take it. I’ll admit, Borat was somewhat problematic and uncomfortable at times, but the themes and discussions that this class would bring to the table are pretty enticing. This also begs the question of what other sorts of weird old syllabi lie hidden in departmental offices. Do some digging, people. Let’s bring back some of these off-beat special topics!
