Unsung Heroes Week: Day 1

Banner 1

February 16th-20th is Kenyon’s First Annual Unsung Heroes Week, a community project designed to appreciate the efforts of Maintenance, AVI and Campus Safety. We are proud to recognize the efforts of these employees as valuable members of the Kenyon community. The long term goal of this project is the establishment of a small scholarship fund for a child or grandchild of a Kenyon AVI, Maintenance or Campus Safety worker living in Knox County and pursuing higher education at a college or university. Please share this project with your Kenyon College friends, family members, alumni, or anyone else who you feel would be interested. Let’s give these workers the recognition they deserve!

“What’s your favorite part about working at Kenyon?”

“I just like it. Taking care of students, seeing to their needs and wants. Friendly conversation with the students as well as doing my job. It’s exciting to see the students come in, you never know what they are going to do or say”

“What’s your favorite part about working at Kenyon?”

“Watching the students mature, and I like talking with the students-that’s my favorite part. And they come back the next year. It’s almost like they’re a part of your family. A couple of them I worried about this summer-they went overseas and a lot of things happened overseas. I kept thinking ‘Oh, I hope he’s safe’ and he was.”

“What’s your favorite part about working at Kenyon?”

“I guess it still is, the interaction that we have with the students. People that’re from different areas of the country and abroad. Getting to learn a little bit about each and every student.”
