For those who do not know about Peirce Dates, we set two people up on a blind date at Peirce. It’s a great way for students to connect at no price. Want to go on a Peirce date? Want to find your friend that special someone? Let us know!

It was a brisk Tuesday evening, and the stars were aligning for love. She forgot about the date. He was late to the date. She ate an orange, and he ate a bowl of cocoa puffs. It was 7:13 pm, and love was in the air.

About the Date…

What were your expectations going into the date?

Erik: I didn’t know what to expect, but I was prepared to embrace any possible discomfort.

Caroline: I expected to have sort of a weird conversation with someone I didn’t know! I didn’t anticipate it being super awkward, and it wasn’t.

Were your expectations met?

Erik: The conversation came more easily than expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

Caroline: We’re both from the DC area and had some mutual friends, as well as some mutual interests in especially the outdoors. I asked him a lot about his first semester and how he liked Kenyon so far. In general it was a nice lil chat/candlelit snack with a male!

How was the other person?

Erik: I thought that she was really nice, funny, and easy to talk to. She just got back from Madagascar! Isn’t that cool?

Caroline: Erik was very sweet and lovely! We got along well and had lots of things to talk about! Though I feel like I gave off the “junior excited about meeting freshman vibe” more than anything.

What was the Peirce atmosphere like?

Erik: Intimate and conducive to conversation. Just like it is everyday.

Caroline: Peirce was really frickin hot. It felt like time stopped and there was no one in the room but us.

Would you go on a second date?

Erik: Duh.

Caroline: Considering I’m 4 years older than him… It felt like a UCC date more than anything. But always happy to make a new friend!

Sum up the date in five words

Erik: Excellent break from Latin homework.

Caroline: I ate fruit and milk.
