Indiana Governor Mike Pence signed a bill into law allowing business owners to deny service to same-sex couples under the banner of religious freedom. Civil liberties groups have decried the bill as discriminatory. I see it as just the opposite. The bill’s not discriminatory- it allows for more liberty! Liberty to take away liberties. Which is still more liberty. Right?
In news from across the pond (I don’t get that saying- the Atlantic Ocean is an ocean, not a pond), BBC has chosen not to renew Jeremy Clarkson’s contract as the host of the immensely popular Top Gear after Clarkson physically assaulted a member of the show’s production team. I can’t say I’m surprised. The British have always been a little bit off ever since we got our independence from them. I get it; I’ve had tough breakups too. But maybe it’s time for British to pull itself together and get back out on the market. There’s nothing wrong with seeing some new countries. We’ve moved on; maybe they should too.
