More than one student has oft complained about Ohio’s landlocked location, but this weekend Ohio is offering a taste of the sea with the Ohio Fish and Shrimp Festival. Located in Urbana, Ohio (Editor’s Note: about 2 hours from Kenyon which is way farther than we initially thought), the festival features various food and beer vendors from across Ohio in addition to live music.
While the festival’s Facebook following is enthusiastic, we’re not about to put all of our clams in one basket. Ohio is still Ohio and the closest body of water is Lake Erie, which has the distinctive feature of an incredibly invasive species of Zebra Mussels. Gross. However, if you are as yet undeterred, the festival has quite a lot to offer including freshwater fish and ‘shrimp’ (crawfish) and an opportunity to support Ohio business owners!
