Lohanthony (née Anthony Quintal) is a 16 year old Youtube star and “film actor” with 1.5 million Youtube subscribers and 1.7 million Instagram followers. This past weekend was also the first round of Coachella 2016, and we, the Kenyon College brand, were lucky enough to be featured on Quintal’s upper torso in the form of a vintage Kenyon sweatshirt. Although it was well above 100 degrees in Indio, California last weekend, that did not stop Lohanthony, a (if not, the) cultural icon of our generation, from wearing a cropped sweatshirt with the Kenyon name emblazoned on the front. If his 1.7 million Instagram followers didn’t know who we were before this, now they probably might.
Judging by the looks of students in Gambier, OH right now, one really gives a shit about this new development. Frisbees are still being thrown, tests are being taken, it doesn’t look like we have school cancelled for this sacred holiday yet. Regardless, we are forever indebted to Sir Lohanthony himself for validating our cultural legitimacy.
Kenyon’s Twitter account was quick to reply to Lohanthony’s praises:
