Writing’s really amazing because you don’t need any formal education to be a writer.

Seven students decided to pursue a creative writing degree anyway. At 5 p.m. today in Cheever Room of Finn House (the yellow house next to the post office), the Creative Writing Senior Seminar (myself included) will be reading excerpts from our creative capstone projects in completion of the Creative Writing Emphasis. There will also be refreshments!

To give you a taste of what we’ll be reading, here’s my summary of the work in clickbait form:

“You Won’t BELIEVE What This Texan Has Written On the Question, ‘What Keeps You Up At Night?'”: Short story excerpts by Colin Ainsworth

“A Story About the Woman Who’s the Next Chihuly, But With aLL OF THE FEELS“: Short story excerpts by Madeleine Bradford

“If You Like Mortal Fear, Then You’ll LOVE Her Poetry!”: Selected poems by Katherine Connolly

“By #1, I Thought Her Poetry Was Good; By #3, I Knew It Was Amazing; By #4 I Was Sobbing Into the Hood of My White North Face“: Selected poems by Morgan Harden

“The One Stupidly Simple Trick This Poet Used to Become Successful“:  Selected poems by Ben Marx

“Can You Spot the Mystery About This Weird Family? It’s Harder Than You Think!”: Short story excerpts by Kate Prince

“CONGRATULATIONS ! YOU ARE OUR DAILY WINNER !! CLICK HERE FOR A FREE LAPTOP !!!”: Personal essay excerpts by Elana Spivack
