Reading Recommendations (from Strangers) Based on How Much You Like to Cry

woman_cryingThe weather’s gross, work is gross, life is gross. Faced with these facts of life I decided to ask strangers on middle path for book recommendations that might make me cry. Here’s what they said:

The Fault in Our Stars. You’ll cry a lot because John Green wrote it and, little known fact, John Green went to Kenyon. Also, cancer is fucked up.”

“Any dog book. Marley and Me, Old Yeller and all the sequels: Young Yeller, Steller Yeller, Elder Yeller, and Dead Yeller. Dead dogs are sad dogs.”

“Any IKEA instruction manual.”

Where the Red Fern Grows. I mean I think you’ll cry. If you’re not a psychopath you’ll probably cry.”

“I read The Book of Mormon this summer and that book made me cry laughing.”

“The Campus Constitutional.”
