Hi. I know we’ve already gotten Day 1 of our Spring “Break,” and with Day 2 juuuust around the corner, we’ll be getting our full two days of “break” very soon. That being said, I think I speak for everyone when I say, can I PLEASE get a break? Like, a proper break that lasts for more than 24 hours? I’m starting to lose it.
The other day, I received an email from a fellow student asking me about an assignment, and I broke down in tears at the prospect of doing work. I don’t know about what the administration thinks, but I don’t think that’s supposed to happen. At least, it didn’t used to happen. Not this often.
I just happen to think that it’s unnecessary and unfair to subject students to an entire semester without any significant breaks, especially during a semester when the entire world seems to be (figuratively) on fire (dear god please no more fires). This is just a hypothesis, but I suspect that those two things combined is not good for anyone’s mental health, especially students’.
Maybe I’m being unreasonable, but if other schools can get away with Spring Breaks, why not Kenyon? There’s some food for thought.
