One week down.  Now that the first week is out of the way, the real work starts.

The Lead Story: 

Obama was sworn in Sunday in a small private ceremony.  There were no problems with the process the second time around.

McConnell/Reid

Buckle up, because The Thrill is back. You can’t sit on the couch and watch Netflix all day because you are back at Kenyon now.  Time to get to work.  I for one could not be more excited, but hey, I won’t speak for all of you.

The Lead Story: 

Congress was able to sneak a Fiscal Cliff deal in at the last minute, but we still have this thing called the Debt Ceiling to deal with.  The Treasury and the Fed have ruled out the trillion-dollar coin though (which contrary to popular belief will not be as big as 89 whales).

Good morning! Here’s the news you may have missed:

The Lead Story:

After seemingly making steps towards a solution to the nation’s precarious fiscal situation, both sides in Washington dug in their heels on Sunday talk shows, blaming each other for current problems. The Democratic representative at these talks, Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner  said the issue was a “decision that lies in the hands of Republicans who are now opposing an increase in the tax rates.”
