More Very Important Kenyon Definitions

Okay, so we posted a definitions list yesterday but now we have even more Kenyon definitions for you. These definitions are definitions that not everyone knows about, definitions that are so secret they are almost illicit, definitions that are vital to your existence as a successful student at Kenyon College. Also, some of these are definitions that we posted last year but we think are still relevant.

Bam Bam – (proper noun, cat) The adorable grey striped fluffy cat that lives under the Crozier porch. Currently  AWOL.
the Bexleys – (noun, place) Upper-class housing where there are lots of parties. Ask for directions!
Brozier – (noun, place) The Crozier Center for Women. Also, a party thrown by the Queer Women’s Collective.

Kenyon Dictionary, Vol. 2

You may have noticed a dictionary of common Kenyon slang on the back page of your Collegian Orientation issue. Since that space wasn’t nearly enough to define all the creative and rich terms you’ll hear around campus, here are some additional words and phrases that might come in handy. Look out for an additional definitions list later today or tomorrow.

  • ’Burbs, the, n. Also called “NCAs.” This is a nickname for the North Campus Apartments.
  • Comps, n. Short for “comprehensive exams.” What each senior has to complete to graduate with a degree in his or her major.

Extremely Important Kenyon Definitions

The Collegian made a list, but we think they forgot some words.

The Bexleys — (noun, place) Upper-class housing where there are lots of parties. Ask for directions!

Brozier — (noun, place) The Crozier Center for Women. Also, a party thrown by the Queer Women’s Collective.

The ‘Burbs — (noun, place) Short for suburbs. The New North Campus Apartments (aka the New-News).

Cape Side of Peirce — (noun, place) The Alumni Dining Room. Watch out for LARPers!
