Kenyon has named Andrea Goldblum to the position of Civil Rights Coordinator. Goldblum is currently the manager of compliance at an educational consulting firm, according to a Student-Info announcing her appointment. The email press release from the College also notes that Goldblum formerly served as the director of the Office of Student Conduct, compliance director, Title IX Coordinator and Clery Act coordinator at The Ohio State University. Goldblum has also held related positions at Georgia Institute of Technology, Roger Williams University, and the University of Colorado.

Goldblum will replace interim Title IX coordinator Linda Smolak. Check out an interview with Goldblum in next week’s issue of the Collegian.

Good morning! Here’s what was missed over the weekend:

The lead story: As most of you likely know by now, the Grand Jury in Ferguson, MO, did not indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of Michael Brown. Officer Wilson has now resigned from the Ferguson Police Department, and while the decision was his own, he was not asked to leave, many protesters and advocates for Michael Brown are pleased with this development, despite disappointment that Wilson was not indicted.

This October seems to be filled with strange things. For one, it snowed this morning. Yeah. It snowed. I didn’t move south to deal with that. Also, the government shut down. Schoolhouse Rock betrayed me. But perhaps most disturbing of all is the lack of Gourdzilla. That’s right, friends. Fall Break has come and gone. Parents’ Weekend is a distant memory. All Hallow’s Eve will be upon us in a mere eight days, but Gourdzilla has not magically appeared in the servery, bringing us our only locally-grown joy in this trying time of midterms and turbulent weather. So where is Gourdzilla? I have some ideas.

Hey, OSU, We Want “Senior Crawl” Too!

This looks more terrifying than fun, but trust me, everyone’s having a good time.

This report is coming to you live from OSU campus —  something called “Senior Crawl” is going on today, and I cannot overemphasize the amount of happy, sunburned seniors in white tees filling the streets with the sounds of tequila-induced merriment as they spill in and out of bars. Yeah, you heard me. Bars. Plural. As in, “more than just the VI and the Cove.” Why can’t Kenyon be like this?
