The lead story: An attempt by US special forces to retrieve hostages from an al Qaeda compound in Yemen failed. While approaching the compound the al Qaeda gaurds were alerted to the US presence and executed the hostages, an American and a South African.

Today is the 70th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

If any of you have been wondering why the College and Gambier Post Office flags are at half-mast today, this is why. It’s also just interesting to realize that 70 years ago today, on Dec. 7, 1941, was the event that plunged America into World War II. Take a moment out of your day to read up on some history (or, for the lazy among you) and remember Pearl Harbor.
