murnenThis week’s Four-Minute Lecture is with Samuel B. Cummings Jr. Professor of Psychology Sarah Murnen. Murnen is a social psychologist who studies gender-related issues from a feminist, socio-cultural perspective. Specifically, Murnen examines how the status difference between women and men in American society might be developed and maintained through various gender-related behaviors.

10 o’clock list: Fictional Characters Who Should Teach At Kenyon

Finish reading Kierkegaard, you must.

Last year I wrote an article listing some fictional characters who didn’t attend Kenyon, but should have. As you can see in the link, a commenter suggested doing the same, but with professors. I’m finally getting around to it, Anonymous, you dweller of the internet darkness. The professors at Kenyon are just as quirky as the students, and the following teachers from beloved works of literature, cinema, and television would fit right in at a staff meeting. Four-Minute Lecture: Professor David Suggs

suggs(0)-1This week’s Four-Minute Lecture is with Professor of Anthropology, David Suggs. Trained in medical anthropology with an area focus on southern Africa, Suggs has conducted extensive research in Botswana on gender, life course, and alcohol consumption. Most recently, his research has focused on the meaning of alcohol consumption among college students, specifically those at Kenyon.
