After years and years of anticipation, the night of Senior Soirée has come and gone. We gathered in formal wear, indulged in dance and drank, and some of us may have taken a tumble. By the end of the night, we had all truly relished in our fleeting youth, thanks to Kenyon for supplying the free booze! We asked some of our senior writers to reflect on this bacchanalian evening.

Dear Incoming Member of the Class of 2021,
You will not meet me your Orientation week. I won’t hold open the doors of the library for you. I will not be at your first a capella concert. In the next four years you may walk the same steps as I did, your favorite VI meal may be the same as mine, and you may live in the rooms I lived. These four years will not be the best years of your life, and they will not be the worst. But they will change you and make you into the person you are meant to become. I didn’t want advice when I entered Kenyon, but as I leave I want to give some semblance of advice to you.
Spring breaaaak. It’s senior year and it’s the mother******* dream y’all. You got comps and two weeks in the town of Gambier and it’s time to bring in your last spring break Harmony Korine style!
You start your trip to another planet in your last class on Friday. You’re in an intro class your last semester because you totally live on the edge, and you sit in the back with your laptop open as you let the underclassmen battle to the death to argue the exact same answer to a question your professor asked. You roll your eyes and look over to your senior housemate and she is holding up paper saying “COMPS” with a drawing of a pencil on it. You get a little jitter in your stomach. This is real life y’all, this is the senior EXERCISE you’ve got eleven pages finished and you’ve still got sixty-nine to go! Class ends and you go up to your senior friend. You each give a nod. Spring Break has begun.

You heard the screams of slap-happy seniors drifting through your open window at 2:00 A.M. Saturday morning. You saw the confetti strewn in the snow outside your dorm. You poked at the eye bags of hungover seniors as they waited in line at the deli after a night of gettin’ down with their favorite professors. But what was Fandango really like? My plebeian underclassman self interviewed some pretty neat Thrill seniors in order to find out.
