Shaka Smart Extends his Horns



It was tentatively announced today that Shaka Smart ’99 will be leaving Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) to join the coaching staff at the University of Texas. Going from a ram to a longhorn, Smart will reportedly earn just shy of $3 million a season, plus bonus; however, his contract with VCU requires him to pay a $500,000 fine to VCU and Texas must play in a home-and-home series. On the morning of Oct. 14, the second healthcare worker reported to the hospital with a low-grade fever and was isolated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms that the second healthcare worker who tested positive last night for Ebola traveled by air Oct. 13, the day before she reported symptoms.
