Uphill/Downhill: Halloweekend and Safety

Well it’s hump day again, this week kind of feels like it’s flying by.

Uphill: Halloweekend — One of the best weekends of the year is upon us. Great parties, better costumes–it really is the most magical time of the year. Consistently a good weekend that never fails to disappoint.  I’m also genuinely excited to see what costume D-Cat selects. Miley Cyrus? The Nuge? Graham Gund? The possibilities are endless.

Uphill/Downhill: The Inauguration and Programming

Well it’s hump day again, this week kind of feels like it’s flying by.

Uphill: The Inauguration — A once in a lifetime opportunity is upon us this weekend, a new President will be inaugurated while we are still students here. It’s a really rare opportunity that we’ve had (three classes at this school have had two Presidents in their time here). This is going to be a pretty historically significant weekend and it’s one of the cooler traditions we have here at Kenyon. To top if all off, it sounds like this is going to be a pretty rockin’ party as well. My recommendations for this weekend? Stay safe, stay classy, pace yourself.

Uphill/Downhill: Parents Weekend

Soon, the Parents will descend upon the campus. This means it’s time for another round of Uphill/Downhill

Uphill: Parents Weekend Without Your Parents — This is the ideal weekend for those of you who don’t have your parents coming. Your friends will invite you out to meals (for free, of course) and all you’ll have to do is act like you don’t know all the terrible things your friend has done so far this semester.  “Yes, Mrs. Smith, I’m continually impressed with how studious Sarah is!” Bingo bango, you’re in the clear! Half an hour later you’ll be able to leave and have the time of your life partying. The real winners this weekend, though? The Amish.

Uphill/Downhill: Reading Daze and the Devil

It’s time for another Uphill/Downhill! Arguably though, this could have been done yesterday, halfway though our work week.

Uphill: Reading Days — That special time when we can let our hair down from the first few weeks of classes. Finally we have settled in and the real work is beginning, so I guess that makes it ok to take a little break. Not sure that they even call it “Reading Days” anymore. I think more people are just referring to it as October Break or Reading Daze.  I can’t wait to try a new beer from the market and maybe get a little pleasure reading done. I hope you will all follow my lead.

Uphill/Downhill: Last Week of Classes

Uphill: Last Week of Classes — This is the last week of classes. You have made it through pretty much a whole year and just have to do the nitty gritty dotting the t’s and crossing the i’s. I mean, you are basically an adult now with all this knowledge in your head from another whole year at college. You TOTALLY won’t forget any of it either this summer, so you are just going to keep getting smarter, like the dude with the big brain in Justice League, not the green guy but the super villain dude.
