Thrill Session: Glen Echo (Part 2)

This is a continuation of Monday’s Thrill Session with Glen Echo.

Alex plays electric guitar with an arsenal of effects pedals, and shares vocal duty with Bennett, who plays drums and occasionally the shaker.  Alex describes their songwriting process thus: “it’s like you’re in a field with two wells, and they each have a hose going down into them, but when you want to water your garden, you don’t need two hoses, so what we did is we connected the hoses outside of the well so when you go to your garden there’s only one hose with water coming out.”  “We just help each other write our songs,” Bennett clarifies. “That’s basically it.”

They’ve got a pretty prolific performance schedule this semester.  They opened for Cloud Nothings a couple weeks ago, they played at the Black/White/Red All Over ball and they’re slated to open for Pinegrove at the Horn on 4/20.  Something tells me that’s going to be a really awesome show.  Keep yr eyes peeled.

We’re proud to present you Glen Echo’s Thrill Session.  Watch, listen, and download below if you dig.

You can follow them here: @glenwrecko

Other Kenyon artists they recommended we check out: Double Girlfriend, French Club.  Anyone else you’d like to see on Thrill Sessions?  Glen Echo tell us there are a lot of freshman bands. (GET AT US, KIDS: raschd@kenyon.edu)

And, as a post-script, here’s what Glen Echo think about the hairstyles of the current GOP candidates:

I think Newt, man.
mm…
I mean, Santorum’s hair is pretty funny.
No comment.  I’m so apathetic about that shit.
I’m gonna say Newt Santorum.
